How to make any presentation interactive - Think Pair Share

Step 1: Think.
Ask your audience a compelling question. Let them think about it individually, I like to ask them to write down their answers. Notice how this encourages personal reflection and gets everyone mentally involved."

Step 2: Pair.
Pair them up with a neighbour to discuss their thoughts. This breaks the ice and helps them articulate their ideas, learn from each other, and stay engaged.

Step 3: Share.
Invite a few pairs to share their insights with the whole group. This brings diverse perspectives and enriches the overall discussion.

And there are so many hidden benefits to TPS:

  1. It gives you time to breathe and reflect.

  2. It is less awkward for everyone in the audience.

  3. You personally get valuable insights into your audience's thoughts and questions.

  4. People find it easier to share something in front of strangers when they are part of a pair or group.

  5. Most people enjoy voicing their thoughts, they feel more heard and understood, making them more engaged.
